Surveying of land and production of maps
Because of the collection of agricultural statistics and other land information based on the cadastral maps, surveying of land and production of maps are carried out. Cadastral maps ( 16" = 1 mile or 32" = 1 mile ) scale as the sole basis for collection of crops and land statistics. It is required to be updated by incorporating changes of survey details mainly in areas affected by natural, physical or other causes. Updating of kwin maps for such affected areas plays a vital task for SLRD.
As a special programme, the computer-readable digital map base is being prepared for Yangon Division by using digitizing equipments and scanner to capture all features from the existing cadastral maps, which can be tailor different scale of map quickly to fit the requirements of SLRD functions.
