(a) Fixation of land revenue rates,
(b) Annual assessment of land revenue, and
(c) Collection of land revenue.
Settlement deals with the operation for fixation of assessment rates of land revenue. The determination of fair and equitable assessment rates of land revenue, it is necessary to enquire the value of the normal gross produce, the normal cost of cultivation and the value of net produce at the normal price. According to the settlement instruction, proportion of the net produce values such as 1/4 for the paddy land, 1/8 for the dry (Ya) land and alluvial land and 1/4 for the special crops are used for fixation of land revenue
