Fertilizers, Pesticides, HYV Seeds
Land holdings in Shan State used HYV seeds and pesticides slightly (19.56%and 13.01% respectively ).Use of organic fertilizers is larger than use of inorganic fertilizer for all the land holdings (55.15% agrinst 30.24% ). Larger percentages of special holdings used HYV seeds (55.43% against 19.54%) inorganic fertilizers (88.04% against 30.22%)organic fertilizers (81.52% against 55.14%) and pesticides (63.04% against 12.99%)compared to household-based holding.This again indicates the better and larger application of agricultural inputs by the special land holdings than household-based holdings (Table 9,10,11)
