One two-week overseas study tour to two countries that have recently conducted an agricultural census (one week in each country) for there persons (two trainees plus one interpreter)to study all aspects of agricultural census planning, design and implementation- (US$ 17,000)

One one- month fellowship at the U.S. Bureau of the Census', Washington DC, for ' Microcomputer Processing of Censuses and Surveys (US$ 11,000)

In-country:
Two-day workshop for data users and producers to identify priority data to be collected in the agricultural census and paying particular attention to aquaculture, food security, environmental and gender issues; (30 participants) -(US$2,000)

Training on Field Operation Manuals and Control Procedures:
A- Heads of District Land Records Department (70) for one week in Yangon (US$3,000) B-Decentralized training at District Land Records Department Offices for 3 days at 60 locations (US$ 12,000)

Training of the national staff on data entry, data processing and dissemination (US$3,000)


1 Equipment list is tentative and only essential items will be provided (to be cleared by ESSS). It is assumed that any computers provided by this project will also be needed for the main census. Therefore, they will all be transferred to the Government. Transfer of the vehicle will be reviewed/considered at the end of the project.
